Abstract
E-learning is proposed as an alternative or a supplementary method to increase the qualified accounting graduates in Thailand. This study suggests that universities assess their readiness for e-learning before using it in accounting education. Variables to assess the readiness of major factors related to e-learning are organized into instructor, student, and technical support readiness. The sampled universities are divided into two groups for hypothesis testing of readiness. Findings show that differences exist in all major factors between the two groups. The readiness is higher for the group where universities are the members of Thailand's cooperative research network. However, most universities in both groups are ready for e-learning at some levels. The major obstructions are the lacking of time and technical personnel who will help develop e-learning and the budget to support e-learning implementation.
