Abstract
This paper builds the groundwork for a professional development model based on the following supposition: Instructors will adopt instructional technology at a more meaningful level when they first analyze their own instructional style within the context of a particular learning situation, identify corresponding instructional strategies, and match appropriate technologies to these strategies. The researchers adapted Hersey, Blanchard, & Johnson's (2001) Situational Leadership model to create the Situational Instructional Styles model. Methodology for using the model in professional development for professional education instructors integrating technology in teaching is outlined in the paper.
