Abstract

A collaboration between the Center for Instructional Technologies and the Center for Teaching Effectiveness at the University of Texas at Austin resulted in a Blackboard faculty support site. The site includes over 80 video clips of UT faculty members describing their experiences and lessons learned from teaching with a courseware management system. Each page within the faculty development site includes a ninety-second video clip, teaching tips, and resource section. The tips section explains the learning theory or instructional strategy associated with each video clip while each related resource is hyperlinked to the University of Texas General Libraries online databases allowing for easy download or viewing of referenced articles. The site was created using a strategy called IRIS, developing learning content while combining Information Resources with Instructional Strategies
