Abstract

This paper discusses the design of a graduate course for teachers concerning the social and cultural implications of educational technology. The course is a required part of the Master's degree option in educational technology at California State University, Long Beach (CSULB), and it also serves as an elective for Master's options in Curriculum and Instruction and in Social and Multicultural Foundations of Education. By articulating information about the design of the course, the paper aims to contribute to discussions about strategies for incorporating study of the social and cultural implications of educational technology into graduate programs in education.
