Abstract

Abstract: The National Educational Technology Standards Group (http://cnets.iste.org) summarized the evolving difference between Traditional Learning Environments and the New Learning Environments to be the evolution of modern technologies. These changes, the NCATE and State standards, strengthened our goal of enhancing the preparation of pre-service teachers with new technology infusion strategies relevant to the information age. This goal has been pursued for several years, but we have had some challenges, in terms of developing a single comprehensive assessment instrument that would cover a whole pre-service teacher's program while covering the corresponding standards required by ISTE, NCATE and the State of North Carolina. The comprehensive instrument was finally developed. It covers the technology accreditation standards, and includes the prime standards of content knowledge, skills, disposition, critical thinking, problem solving, and diversity. Evaluation is done On-line.
