Abstract
During the spring of 2004, the leadership at Northern Arizona University's College of Education made a decision to implement electronic portfolios in coming semesters. An evaluation team was assembled to investigate various product options, and make a final recommendation to the college leadership. Through demonstrations, question/answer sessions, using the software, and contacting current users of each product, NAU's e-portfolio evaluation team discovered common limitations, common benefits, and a host of proprietary features unique to individual products. These features and limitations were then compared with a series of weighted criteria decision matrices. This paper will discuss the findings of NAU's Electronic Portfolio evaluation team, but perhaps more importantly, will discuss the systematic process used to evaluate various electronic-portfolio options.
