Abstract

Abstract: Customized learning, presenting just the right material to the learner on demand, can be described using data representations from learning technology standards (learner profiles, competency definitions, sequencing rules, learning objects). A model for role- and competency-based customization that uses these standard representations has been developed. The approach has been implemented in a set of web services that follows a general architectural framework for service-based learning technology systems.
