Abstract

Qualitative data collected from 24 lead faculty members at a regional comprehensive university were analyzed to discover barriers and incentives to the adoption of educational technology. Leading barriers to adoption of educational technology are; time, resources, and lack of confidence in the benefit of educational technology. Incentives that were mentioned included; because it's the right thing to do, personal satisfaction, and student demand. The effect of mentor role models, modeled use of educational technology, and other exposure to educational technology methodology is also discussed.
