Abstract

As a large-scale institution (with over 3,000 students in the teacher education program), Kean University?s PT3 office has sought to use an array of strategies to foster the integration of technology into preservice education. While the university?s PT3 program maintains a full range of workshops and support systems, and has achieved a high profile on campus, it has decentralized some of its activities through several innovative programs. These programs involve the efforts of both faculty and students as Technology Ambassadors (students who provide professional development during their junior and senior student teaching), Technology Innovators (faculty who are attempting to infuse technology into their teaching in innovative ways), Portfolio Coaches (trained student workers who coach other students through their development of electronic portfolios), and, Technology Fellows (faculty who provide expertise in technology initiatives at the department level).
