Abstract
Interactive multimedia is usually rich in media and poor in interactivity. It must be interactive to take advantage of its true power. Multimedia as a page-turner can delight the senses for a few moments, but it cannot engage the mind. Teachers and students are used to using basic tools, such as PowerPoint and HyperStudio to develop multimedia projects, but the projects usually lack any true interactivity. Professional multimedia tools are either too difficult to learn, too expensive, or both. With the widespread availability of PowerPoint, teachers and students have all the tools they need to create interactive multimedia using Visual Basic for Applications (VBA).
