Abstract
Teacher education has become a critical institutional issue for colleges and universities whose mission includes accommodating the needs of increasing numbers of nontraditional students. To maintain needed scheduling and budgetary flexibility, these institutions employ large numbers of part-time faculty who have become an integral part of teaching and learning, thus creating the challenge of providing support and development to enhance faculty effectiveness. In response to new faculty's need for more information delivered through multiple means, Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University's Extended Campus developed a Faculty Orientation and Development CD-ROM to accompany its Faculty Academic Orientation Manual as a guide to the university and pertinent academic doctrine, guidelines, and procedures.
