Abstract
The global forum on school leadership was conceptualized to enhance the preparation of school leaders across the globe. It is premised on the belief that interaction and engagement with those holding alternative views on familiar topics leads to enhance learning. The global forum on school leadership provides school leaders (in training) the opportunity to consider the perspectives of international colleagues on important issues. The forum has begun with future principals and district superintendents in Kansas, USA and New South Wales, Australia participating in dialog on a series of topics. In an upcoming phase of the forum, new headmasters in the UK will contribute newly acquired knowledge to the dialog. This paper describes this project in more detail, including factors for success. Preliminary evaluation data will be discussed. The impact of lessoned learned for leadership preparation programs and for managing on-line learning communities will be analyzed.
