Abstract

In this paper I argue that we must recognize the dilemmas of teacher portfolios and make careful decisions to address the problematic issues. The rapidity with which electronic portfolios have been adopted by colleges of education, school districts, and other agencies gives us special reason to pause, step back, and consider the implications of web and CD technologies. The focus in this paper will be on identifying the key decisions and dilemmas institutions must face if they seek to adopt electronic portfolios for teachers.
