Abstract

This paper presents a cursory overview of CD ROM applications to instruction. This is followed up by a specific example of how a CD ROM resource was created for use in a Middle School Teacher Education Course. The CD ROM was purposefully designed to allow instructors flexibility in how it may be integrated into the curriculum. In closing, the paper will entertain the notion of designing software with an understanding that the instructor may subvert the intended classroom usage.
