Abstract
Technology has pervaded nearly every aspect of American society: commerce, communication, entertainment, and learning. Because it has changed the way many of us do our work, the public has an expectation that technology must be naturally helpful in educating students. The transformation to an information culture mandates a change in the roles and responsibilities of K-12 teachers, and therefore, teacher educators. Colorado has many technology businesses and its government uses technology to provide services. Top policy makers expect the state's workforce, largely educated in Colorado, to support the local technology industry. This dissertation study will examine the state of technology education being provided to preservice teachers in the 17 teacher preparation programs in Colorado.
