Abstract

This study will focus on improving the awareness and acceptance of electronic whiteboards in the elementary, middle, and high school levels. It will use Rogers' theory of diffusion of innovations as a framework in order to establish most effective methods for diffusion. An experimental study will be conducted to gather data for the study and results will be shared with the conference participants. The nature of the study is that currently it is on-going. Preliminary results seem to indicate that all four factors, the availability of technical support, the existence of an ubiquitous environment, teacher training, and pre-existing teacher attitudes all impact the likelihood of this innovation being diffused throughout the school setting.
