Abstract
The drill type Kanji learning system using the handwriting character recognition function of PDA was developed. Each PDA which had this drill system was lent to all children of a class, and the relation between this system and the learning effect was inquired. Consequently, it becomes clear that there is a relation between the number of answers of the PDA drill and children fs Kanji capacity. On the other hand, it turns out the necessity of a teacher fs grasp for the children fs learning status and performing suitable instruction at any time. For these purposes, it is necessary to strengthen the functions of this system from now on.
