Abstract
Empirical studies within the social sciences use both, quantitative and qualitative methods. For the evaluation of a VLE using Likert-scaled questions, a number of statistical points have to be taken into account. Within this paper we are going to show methods already in use and some ways of how to improve these. There will be a number of possibilities of how to justify necessary assumptions in a special context to realize the proposed improvements.
