Abstract
Computer-mediated communication (CMC) is essential to enable collaborative work. Continuously developing and evaluating online communication is important to ensure that it is being implemented in a satisfactory and successful manner. Results of a former exploratory study have described success factors for CMC. This paper builds on these results and constructs a model of success factors describing how they affect each other. This paper focuses on the need for collaborative work within online learning environments as a major success factor.
