Abstract

This paper explores preservice teachers responses to using a Web Quest I designed for my Culturally Relevant Teaching Course to engage students in (1) exploring resources on the history and current issues relating to a particular ethnic group, (2) reviewing K-6 web based resources for incorporation in their curriculum learning center or web quest on that ethnic group, and (3) evaluating those sites for their inclusion of a focus on social justice pedagogy.Twenty one preservice teachers completed pre/post surveys assessing their multicultural attitudes at the beginning and end of the course, and reflected on the contribution of the web quest to their understanding of multicultural curriculum and teaching for social justice.
