Abstract
NSU's PT3 grant is currently facilitating action research projects conducted by university faculty and teacher education students in collaboration with rural PK-12 teachers and school districts. Grant partners are using technology to investigate scientifically based teaching and learning strategies shown to increase student achievement and creating technology-enhanced lesson plans and learning activities that address areas of concern in PK-12 students' academic achievement as identified by their scores on standardized achievement tests. The ultimate goals of the collaborative research projects are to illustrate the connection between teaching strategies and student achievement and assist teacher education programs and PK-12 school districts across the nation to better meet the accountability requirements demanded by the No Child Left Behind legislation.
