Abstract

The paper presents first year (baseline) research into using a 3D on-line learning environment for teaching Computers in Education, a course at the University of North Texas for pre-service teachers (students who are training to become teachers). Four classes participated in the research with two being offered face-to-face as is the normal practice and two courses being offered using the on-line 3D learning environment. While the research will be ongoing over future semesters, this paper will discuss results seen over the first semester of use. This paper is a follow-up to an interactive session presented during EdMedia 2003 concerning 3D online learning environments.
