Abstract

CBL is increasingly being used to deliver programmes of study in Higher Education. This paper argues that while there is value to be gained from the use of CBL materials in Higher Education, it is also increasingly important to recognise and cater for the paradigm shift regarding the nature of students in Higher Education and argues a case for the importance of a holistic approach to the design and use of CBL materials. It discusses the findings of a study which focuses on the development and implementation of CBL at the University of Strathclyde.
