Abstract

Edutainment systems and educational games are often designed with no concern for instructional efficiency. The "expense" of such systems (the relationship between student effort and instructional goals) is unknown. This project defines operations and strategy learning, different levels of learning that occur in edutainment systems. An experimental study gathering clickpath and scanpath data shows learning patterns that are identifiable with operations learning and with strategy learning.
