Abstract

Because of the perceived advantages and the seemingly relentless promotion of Web-based learning environments (WBLEs) by commercial interests as well as educational technologists, knowing how to develop and implement it probably will not be a choice for most educators and trainers in the future, but a necessity. However, many educators still don't know the way to do this. Until now, studies have demonstrated that success or failure of online learning depends on the level of interaction. Indeed, it has been said learning is impossible without interaction (Gunawardena, 1995). However, that kind of interaction does not occur by itself. The goal of this paper is to present implications and some strategies for designing meaningful interaction activities in web-based learning programs based on learners' perspectives.
