Abstract

This session will present a prototype for a new pedagogical application of streaming media in online courses that combines text-based content with video. This model is based on the selective and contextual use of video in the process of delivering instructor-based content. We will demonstrate this via a new course that will employ several innovative methods of employing multimedia to effectively deliver online content. These methods range from alternative ways to present "lecture" content (e.g., interviews, panel discussions, documentaries, etc.), to new ways to package video inside other online content.
