Abstract
The objective of this paper is to address the question of the changing conception of knowledge at present and the need for institutions of higher learning and educators to reconceptualize the notion of knowledge and learning in order to keep in line with the changes in the society. Furthermore, I will argue that it is necessary to develop teaching methodology that can function effectively in the new technologicallygrounded paradigm that is evolving in the realm of the social and the economical on a global scale today. This paper is based on my experience in developing, designing and delivering a web-based Spanish Civilization course at the University of Arizona, Tucson.
