Abstract

Governments around the world are putting their hopes in new technologies in order to make learning in schools efficient and relevant to the future; new practices are emerging. The purposes of this paper are to identify the most common Information and Communication Technologies (ICT’s) used when socializing through ICT’s, and to explore which of these instruments or technologies offer the most efficient possibility of knowledge construction. Once education has been set as one of the most relevant uses of technology and is becoming more and more popular around the world, many questions rise about this topic. Does social networking provide a constructivist environment? Is it possible for people to learn not having a mentor in front of them? Social networking is a world phenomenon that can be found in the most remote places around the world. We will set a frame of the most popular and effective social networking instruments used during the process of knowledge construction.
