Abstract

Examined in this research was the efficaciousness of using a student-written e-text in teaching a course on small group and team communication. After being given general guidelines the students captured appropriate content, organized that content, and prepared an e-text using the captured and organized content. The e-text was published on the internet. This e-text then became the text for the class. The performance of the e-text class was compared with the performance of another section of the same course taught in the traditional manner. Using a common testing instrument, it was found that the e-text class's performance was superior to the performance of the traditional class.
