Abstract
The presentation is a demonstration of the I3 Network – Innovation Information Infrastructure. I3 is a University of Missouri study sponsored by the National Science Foundation. The primary focus of the system is to build social networks through the use of technology. I3 monitors interactions among registered members and conduct surveys of participants to measure the relationship between types and levels of interaction, knowledge and skills. I3 allows searches of varying degrees of specificity to find members with desired skills, resources or interests. Recently introduced Version 2.0 is repurposable to any professional field of activity. Some of the potential uses to be discussed are 1) linking students and classrooms across national boundaries and 2) creating extensive networks with the goal of linking researchers across multiple institutions and specialties who share common research interests.
