Abstract

Abstract: This paper describes Artful Connections, a Smithsonian American Art Museum project that provides virtual museum tours to Department of Defense Education Activity visual arts students. DoDEA visual arts teachers are located around the world and isolated from each other, making it difficult to share ideas and best practice. The paper introduces Community of Practice literature and recognized principles in this practice. It then describes an emergent CoP that has been incorporated into Artful Connections.
