Abstract

We created the e-learning system as an educational aid to enable the learners to study by experience and to answer questions repeatedly in the subject "Fundamentals of Mathematical Understanding" that aims to study the fundamental mathematics at junior colleges. We prepared two types of e-learning materials: (1) multimedia system including animations and voice instructions that were developed using "Flash" produced by Macromedia, Inc. and (2) screen system consisting of characters and figures based on the HTML mode. Furthermore, we prepared the printing systems to be selected and used freely by the learners. With these systems, we inspected the relation between the learners' personalities and the frequency of using the systems, and examined the effect of frequency of using them on the educational efficiency through the experiment. As a result, the e-learning system on the WEB systems used as educational aids is effective to develop the learners' fundamental abilities of mathematics.
