Abstract

This paper reports an ongoing study on online collaboration and knowledge construction. The context of knowledge construction in online settings has been reviewed briefly, and their shortcomings have been considered. Then, constructivism and social constructivism as the theoretical framework of the study from their founders' as well as current scholars' perspectives have been discussed. Grounded theory design as the method has been touched upon. And, finally, the study site, Idea Construction Zone (ICZ), and the participants are described.
