Abstract

A university IT unit's expertise can be as diverse as the faculty clients they support, i.e., developers, artists, and trainers. An online assessment tool was developed in order to determine strengths and gaps in knowledge, skills, and abilities in the area of instructional technology. The results of the self-assessment led to new inter-departmental cross-training programs, beginning with Instructional Design workshops, in order to increase faculty support.
