Abstract
GAIA is a microworld-based learning environment aiming to provide means for exploratory learning to secondary school students in the fields of physics, mathematics and geosciences. This paper presents Gilbert, one of GAIA's microworlds aiming to familiarize students with contemporary geosciences.
