Abstract
A hybrid course model that utilizes online instruction, online office hours, quizzes, and projects, in conjunction with face-to-face instruction, in class applications and field-based experiences will be discussed and demonstrated. Discussants will focus on model design, usefulness, and replication for other teacher preparation courses. Technological aspects to be discussed include the use of Flash MX 2004 Professional version and the use of streamed Flash Video (FLV) files in the development of online instructional components. Furthermore, implementation of pre-service teacher produced digital movies, and the use of an open-ended and anonymous communication board for pre-service teachers to give feedback will be talked about. Preliminary research findings will also be discussed.
