This session will demonstrate an innovative web-based learning tool, Still Learning used at A.T. Still University/Kirksville College of Medicine. Still Learning employs video presentations to help the community-based medical school faculty and students on how to organize presentations, and be graded on EBM case presentation. The tool is based on ThinkAbout architecture, which was developed by the Center for Instructional Innovation at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. It uses a case-based learning approach to enhance contextualized problem-solving skills. Users view a medical student’s case presentation, make a decision about how to apply evaluation criteria, and give a rationale for their choice. In a second phase, the tool graphically displays frequencies of all users’ choices and lists users’ and other’s rationales. A coach is available to provide helpful hints and an expert gives an authoritative description of how rating criteria should have been applied. Evaluations continue through multiple cycles and cases.
