“The Future School Project” was lunched in July 2010. To study effects of using ICT for learner centered collaborative learning, all students in 10 elementary schools are provided with a Tablet PC and every classroom is provided with an Interactive Whiteboard. All these units are connected to a wireless network and can access the Internet. This paper shows the current condition of the future schools in Japan. To clarify the potential of this learning environment, lesson plans from teachers and field reports from ICT support staffs were collected. As a result, there were several trends of utilization of IWBs and TPCs. Typical lesson patterns were also found and the advantages and disadvantages of this learning environment were discussed.
