Abstract

Abstract: This paper briefly argues the importance of creating engaging learning materials for online learners and it also introduces three categories of free tools to achieve this goal: Slideshows, concept maps and screen captures. Three tools are introduced in the slideshow category, two tools in the concept maps, and two tools in the screen-capturing tools. In addition to the tool introduction, the educational benefits and drawbacks of each tool are also discussed in the paper. With a new mindset and a new toolset, the author hopes that more engaging learning materials will be created to engage online learners in the online classroom.
