We often observe signs of evolution from numerous service sectors and also witness interestingly mutating species in the education ecosystem. Some of the new education enterprises are genetically engineered to seek higher efficiencies while others are merely phenotypes. Currently, there seem to be three distinctive agents profoundly causing evolution in the education ecosystem, if not accelerating the clock speed: the rapid advancement of mobile technology, open standards for service modularity, and current stagnant economy. This presentation shares perspectives on several evolution phenomena in the education ecosystem and suggests possible ways to evolve ourselves to serve the future generations in the 21st century higher education ecosystem.
