Abstract

Abstract: The main focus of this presentation centers on the practical application of social learning theory in a graduate education on-line learning program. Presenters will demonstrate effective on-line strategies used for community building and describe ways that this can be generated and sustained in an asynchronous on-line learning environment. Results will also be provided from their analyses of the shared meaning-making processes occurring among students within and across interdisciplinary on-line courses as communities of practice emerge.
