Now in its second year, the Instructional Technology Passport System (ITPS) is a compliance system with authentic performance-based assessments designed to promote ethical and effective use of instructional technology among teacher candidates at Illinois State University. The ITPS consists of ten technological competencies that teacher education students must demonstrate during their regular coursework before being allowed to graduate. This paper will report on the progress, problems, and results of the system since inception.
